My work Landscapes consists of a double projection: A 16-mm film projection and a slide show. The 16-mm film shows a smooth ride along the seashore of “lac aux cérises“ located in the Canadian Appalachian Mountains. The slide show is superimposed on the film projection. The slides show different views of some fjords around the same area.

The work is related to descriptions of landscapes written by the blind author Jaques Lusseyran. In his autobiography “Le monde commence aujourd‘hui,“ Lusseyran visualizes his way of seeing the world as a process of perception, which is not necessarily bound to the physical function of the eye. LANDSCAPES are interpreting this way of perception.
