Aus einem Pool von 60 von mir geführten Interviews zu dem Thema „Ideale“ zeigt der Film „Ideale im Park“ in ständig wechselnden Konstellationen jeweils zwei der Interviewten gleichzeitig nebeneinander.

Der Film erweckt so den Eindruck, als unterhielten sich diese beiden – gleich einem Paar - miteinander. Häufig entstehen Situationen, in denen die eine sich scheinbar interessiert auf die andere einlässt - sie hört gespannt zu oder nickt zustimmend. Erst wenn beide gleichzeitig sprechen und „aneinander vorbeireden“, wird deutlich, dass es sich doch um einzelne Interviews handelt, bei denen sich die reale Gesprächspartnerin (ich) außerhalb des Bildraums befindet.

The film ‘Ideals in the Park’ features two interviews at a time shown simultaneously side by side in ever-changing combinations taken from a pool of 60 interviews I conducted on the topic of ‘ideals’. The film thus creates the impression that the two people are having a conversation with each other – like a couple.

Situations frequently arise where one of them appears to be interested in what the other is saying – listening attentively or nodding in agreement. It is only when they both speak at once and talk across each other that it becomes clear that these are separate interviews and that the real person they are talking to (me) is off-screen.
